AIRBRUSHING ACRYLICS Airbrushing is a great method to create a soft & smooth finish. You may use any acrylic paint and work indoors. _________________________________________________________________________________ SHOPPING LIST

AIRBRUSHING You will need 4 things to start airbrushing. 1. Airbrush | 2. Hose | 3. Compressor | 4. Cleaning Tools Stick with Iwata brand. All parts are replaceable, easy to find and of the highest quality. I have tested other airbrushes and will always recommend Iwata. You should only ever need two airbrushes in one lifetime. IWATA STORE: amzn.to/3PJVrJk _________________________________________________________________________________ THE AIRBRUSH The Iwata Eclipse is the best bang for your buck. Versatile and good for both the beginning and professional artist. You can get away with using only this airbrush for entire projects. Iwata Eclipse HP-CS | 0.35mm : amzn.to/3Wsb1gs If you would like to take your airbrushing to the next level and once you understand how to both paint and clean- the Micron is unmatched. The CM-C Plus allows for additional airflow control at the airbrush level. Iwata Micron CM-C Plus | 0.23mm : amzn.to/4gpJ00x The Iwata Micron can also reduce to a 0.18mm head & needle which is very small. I do not personally use this system in mine. You can convert the Iwata Micron to a 0.18mm system! 15405 | Micron Needle | 0.18mm : amzn.to/4hbuOcv 15351 | Micron 0.18mm Head System : amzn.to/42qOF30 Shop Replacement Parts Here: www.iwata-airbrush.com/airbrush-parts.html Use an airbrush stand for one or more airbrushes being used. This avoids damage and paint pooling Airbrush Holder : amzn.to/3Eo4HRi Optional for your setup is an airbrush hood. I personally do not use one of these. Airbrushing Hood: amzn.to/3ExDlrC _________________________________________________________________________________ HOSE The Iwata airbrush will require a 1/8" BSP airbrush hose. This will connect one end to the airbrush & one end to the compressor. The right adapter is required to connect to the air compressor - see more on that below! Airbrush Hose 6ft : amzn.to/4hsOpED Airbrush Hose 10ft : amzn.to/3Eg6xTW I strongly recommend a Quick Connect. If you have more than one airbrush, you can attach these to each for easy switching between one compressor hose. This is also helpful for cleaning. Purchase this kit for one airbrush: Quick Connect: amzn.to/40lHIxo Add this to all extra airbrushes: Quick Connect Male Only: amzn.to/4aumTVc _________________________________________________________________________________ COMPRESSOR You may use either a HOBBY compressor or a SHOP compressor for airbrushing. I recommend a shop compressor as it will perform better and last longer. I recommend watching the videos listed below better explaining everything. _________________________________________________________________________________ HOBBY COMPRESSOR OPTIONS A hobby compressor will run quieter, cheaper, but have less power. Master without Tank: amzn.to/3WtmPiG Master with Tank: amzn.to/4gf21lT _________________________________________________________________________________ QUIET SHOP COMPRESSOR OPTIONS A shop compressor will run louder, but have better power and consistency. I use a Makita 3gallon Quiet and I love it! These compressors have a 1/4" NPT adapter on them, so conversion down to 1/8" BSP is required. CLEANING TOOLS I use either water or isopropyl to clean the brush in-between paint changes. I find airbrush cleaner doesn't do much for me. I like to keep my liquids in a 8oz Squeeze bottle for easy use. Water : From the tap! Isopropyl Alcohol 99% : amzn.to/3Xagjhs Squeeze Bottles: amzn.to/40v8FPl A non-negotiable is the Iwata Tool Kit. The pliers are plastic lined for safe removal of sticky or over-tight parts without scratching the airbrush. It also comes with all the essential screwdrivers and wrenches for your fleet of Iwata brushes. Iwata Tool Kit : amzn.to/40Tvm1b You will also need a Cleaning pot for spraying the discarded paint. These often come with helpful need tools and other cleaning tools. Cleaning Pot: amzn.to/40HomEa You will need a container to soak parts in Isopropyl. Find something at a thrift store! Glass Container for Soaking: amzn.to/4hFeJeO When working, sometimes the tip of the airbrush needle can build up with dried paint. I use a soft sponge with a bit of isopropyl can clean that right up! Sponge : amzn.to/4gjm2b3 I use an old paintbrush for brushing the cup out in cleaning and paint changes. Old Paintbrush : A long bristled, old brush Prevent small parts from getting lost and rolling off the desk, plus an easy to follow guide. Airbrush Cleaning Mat : amzn.to/4h4v6Sy Get into the small crevices of the airbrush with this syringe. Monoject Syringe : amzn.to/3E75llR Cotton Swabs, Nail Tees and Micro applicators are super useful in cleaning the airbrush. Cotton Swabs: amzn.to/4hpWGJx Nail Tees: amzn.to/4joAGRc Micro Applicators: amzn.to/3WoJFb1 These are amazing for cleaning the small parts of the airbrush that need some more scrubbing. They are made of plastics so they will not scratch and are fine enough to insert in the needle holes. Gum Proxabrush : amzn.to/4avlA8j Red | Moderate Turquoise | Wide This is a great tool for cleaning the difficult grooves of the airbrush without damaging the coating. Stiff Fix-it Brush: amzn.to/40XRur2 If not buying the Tool kit, you will need a wrench. A small tube of lube comes with the purchase of a new airbrush. Lube : Included in airbrush box : amzn.to/42t2ZI7 Wrench : amzn.to/4aAjMLp _________________________________________________________________________________ PAINTING TOOLS Use a respirator when working with airbrush paints and large sprays. Mask Only: amzn.to/42ikIlq Vapour Filters 6001: amzn.to/3ChJBmL I like to use syringes in my painting process to measure my mixes. 3mL Syringes : amzn.to/40uBhZ7 Use these air tight containers for storing paint mixes. Sistema ToGo: amzn.to/3SX0NTE I love this tool for easy mixing of thinner or paints. Badger Paint Mixer : amzn.to/4aqyMLV Vallejo Flow Improver works really well for thinning paints. Flow Improver : amzn.to/40v4Dq0 Specifically for airbrushing, using a glass desk is a great strategy. When things get too messy, simply use a glass cleaner & razor blade to remove dried paint. Glass Desk: A smooth surface! a turntable can help in the airbrushing process. Lazy Susan : amzn.to/3CkZuZA _________________________________________________________________________________ REPLACEMENT PARTS I like to keep both a replacement Nozzle and Needle on hand. This is to prevent delays in the middle of a painting project. These are the most likely to damage as your learn to use the airbrush. The Iwata Eclipse Runs a 0.35mm nozzle & needle The Iwata Micron Runs a 0.23mm nozzle & needle 16172 | Eclipse Needle | 0.35mm : amzn.to/40kkqrK 16042 | Eclipse Nozzle | 0.35mm : amzn.to/40JcFgj 15402 or 15403 | Micron Needle | 0.23mm : amzn.to/3PM8t9i 15352B | Micron Nozzle | 0.23mm : amzn.to/4gac5ws You should not need the whole head system, but in case you do! 153252 | Micron Head System | 0.23m : amzn.to/3Wp29Ir _________________________________________________________________________________ You can convert the Iwata Micron to a 0.18mm system! 15405 | Micron Needle | 0.18mm : amzn.to/4hbuOcv 15351B | Micron Nozzle | 0.18mm : amzn.to/4h66tEP 15351 | Micron 0.18mm Head System : amzn.to/42qOF30 _________________________________________________________________________________

AIRBRUSH PAINT You do not need airbrush specific paints in order to airbrush. Any acrylic can be thinned with water or reducer to flow through the brush. However, if you are starting out and want an easy paint to add to the airbrush, I highly recommend Golden High Flow. They are a very thin, but pigmented paint that can be used directly into the airbrush. The finish is a little bit tacky and more satin, but cures nicely. _________________________________________________________________________________ GOLDEN HIGH FLOW STORE : amzn.to/47aHcoR
