What happens to the beloved?
When their tails are clipped and we say our goodbyes... Is is it impossibly sad? Or can we imagine something beautiful? Eden was loved. And now her garden grows...
Originally conceptualized from simple imagery, Eden became so much more than that on her journey to be.
This creation marks a pivotal point in my journey as I allow exploration of these conceptual ideas, but also new growth within myself. This year has been calmer and quieter. I have achieved several goals that pushed me to the limit since beginning the studio. Now I can relish in the simplicity of picking away at slower things. I can take a breath. I do not need to prove myself so hard. In the end we all just become flowers anyways. We need to enjoy them while we can. This piece was inspired by my part time job helping a local vet clinic with their sympathy cards and horse tail keepsakes. Every strand that passes through my fingertips was a beloved friend. It is so sad. But to know they are in the air we breathe, the soil beneath our toes, the wind in our hair and the beautiful things we still get to experience. They are never truly gone. They are just in the garden... And of course, the best of them, will have no tail... |
