How to Strip Your Model Horse Tutorial

1/16/2019

In this video I cover the process of stripping your model horse of its paint job. Breyer do not need to be removed of their original paint, but if you make a mistake or have a body that come covered in acrylic paint - there is an easy way to strip the model clean to restart
You will need:
  • Kitchen gloves
  • Easy Off oven cleaner
  • A kitchen or bathroom sink
  • Respirator
  • Plastic bag with no holes
  • Toothbrush/Scrub brush

No it does not, there is no need to strip the OF paintjob.

Is there a less corrosive paint remover that I could use? We don't use harsh chemicals in my house.

No, unfortunately not. If you are painting in only acrylics, this can be somewhat removed by soaking in hot water. If the project has been sealed or primed, chemicals are the only things that will remove everything fully.

When stripping a model, does the Easy-Off oven cleaner work on glossy models? Or should I do or use something specific to make sure I get my model as “clean and bare” as possible?
